Working a full time job leaves me very little time to focus on art, designing, family, or anything else for that matter. Luckily, I took the whole week off for vacation time, in which I spent working on my SS13 collection! It's been about 10 months since I've been out of design school and moved to Los Angeles, and I've been so busy trying to get settled and with work that I haven't had much time to focus on my personal career goals.

I've spent the past few months working on putting together my new collection, any spare day I have I try to get at least one thing done. However, this past week I've accomplished an enormous amount of stuff, so I'll (hopefully) be shooting lookbook and product shots within the next few weeks! I'm hoping to do a short video to go along with the lookbook as well.

It feels so good to be making clothes again. With each collection that I've done in the past, I definitely feel like I rushed through them or that my initial goal was lost in the process. When I started designing this collection I made it a goal to not set a deadline and take as much time as I needed to really make this something that I'm proud of.

I'm really looking forward to sharing the final product with you all!

Since I've been sick all week, I turned my bed into my workplace. Works better than one might assume!

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend!

My mom gave me this leopard top from Forever21 and I've become completely obsessed with it. It can be hard to find a good leopard print, because sometimes the color is off or the print just looks weird, but this one is perfect. bold spots in the perfect color combo. I love pairing it with my vintage sequin shorts. I've had these for years now and they are still one of my most frequently worn items. My cardigan and tights are from Betsey Johnson. Boots are from the Dolce Vita for Target collection from a few years ago.

While I was in Colorado visiting last week, my dear friend Matthew Novak shot these photos. It was really great to see friends and family while I was in town, and this week my mom and baby sister actually moved to LA! Sooooo excited to have them close again.

In the photos I'm wearing all Betsey Johnson, except for the shoes, socks and belt. Everything that's going on with the company is so upsetting, but I feel really honored to say that I worked for Betsey, at least for a little while! In my heart I'll always be a Betsey Babe and a supporter of Betsey.

This spring I've been really into pairing prints. Even if they clash, I think the juxtaposition of patterns, prints and textures makes for really great outfits. For myself, Leopard and stripes are good with everything, especially floral! Color blocking is something else I've been having a fantastic time with. Now that I wear so much color, I sometimes question how I wore all black clothes for so many years!
